Not enough Versatile AoE,speed boost, snare skills in HA
Currently in HA the best aoe skills are owned by fire eles, their damage and radius is just broken compared to the other aoe skills owned by other professions. Sure there are contagion dark aura aoe spikers, or trappers but these 2 types can not be used in all builds.
For relic snaring, the best snare skills are ward against foes and grasping earth.(water hexes can easily be owned by holy veil and interupts, cripples can be cleaned up so easily with life sheath)
For speed boost, the only viable one is make haste.
I seriously think that these limitations on builds is really hurting build diversity. (for example, in balanced you must bring a e/p fire nuker with make haste. In Iway you have to bring a mo/p)
Anyways I just wish Anet would just buff a skill to compete with make haste(5energy 1/4cast 15second duration target other ally windborne speed?), ward against foes, and alternative aoes besides fire eles(buff splinter weapon to all adjacent foes? no more VoD in gvg)

Well of they were to buff some thongs it would unbalance other things. Ele's do have nice AoE's and Wards but that's somewhat what thier class specializes in. It's kind of like saying spirits have too long of a range and so we need to buff something to compensate for it. But to be completely honest I'm not sure what a good solution would be here.

water snares combined with ward + grasping are guffin' annoying. many teams are using dual snares these days, making unholy temples a painful experience. lots of relic drops required.

Yup and so is the altar system "hey guys let's ball in AoE's !"
It's not the lacks of skills the problem, but the mecanics of HA.

AoE was always "balanced" in HA because it would farm bad teams, but only supply good DPS against decent teams. (And nearly no DPS on certain maps)
Ever since Cap Points, your intire team is pretty much forced to tank the AoE. This makes fire spells do over 1500 dmg per cast. This is redicilous...
Tough, it's the mechanics itself that are broken. Fire AoE, or AoE in general, IS SUPPOSED to do "big damage" to balled up people.
It's when you're forced to tank that AoE, it becomes a problem.

What? Even if you have a bunch of skills that do the same thing, one will end up as the most efficient and none of the others will be used?!
But really, if their runner is always moving fast, your runner is always snared, and there is always AoE on the altar does a different animation and different icon popping up really indicate diversity?
